Fresh Deacs: Cameron Glenn

Wake Forest receives assurance from safety Cameron Glenn, who has the ability to make an impact for the Demon Deacons from day one.

After taking over the head coaching job just under a week ago, Dave Clawson has been busy hitting the recruiting trail and locking in some fresh Deacs. Earlier last week Coach Clawson received reconfimation from LB Jaboree Williams and a fresh commitment from QB John Wolford. We are also happy to say that coach Clawson was also able to get assurance from S Cameron Glenn.

Cameron Glenn is a 6'2 185lb safety from Stephenson Highschool in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Glenn, who made his original commitment to the Deacs in April, confirmed that he will be keeping his committment and will be at Wake in 2014. Watching Glenn's tape it is obvious why he received offers from schools like Michigan St. and Missouri. He is a hard nosed saftey whose strong instincts allow for him to get into the opponents back field and cause havoc. Glenn's size and ball skills allow him to excel in both man-to-man and zone coverages. His natural position is listed as Free Safety, which seems about right given his size and the tale of the tape. However, I wouldn't be completely surprised, or against, if Clawson thought about moving him to corner to help ease the loss of Johnson and Noel. Wake will be stacked at defensive back with the return of Ryan Janvion, Kevin Johnson and Bud Noel so Glenn will get to develop along side a veteran secondary.

Glenn looks like one of Wakes most promising recruits and I wouldn't be surpised to see him in the mix at Free Safety with the departure of A.J. Marshal.
