Per a post on the popular Deaconsports.com message board, it appears that plans for an aerial banner calling for the removal of Wake AD Ron Wellman has been scrapped by the vendor at the last minute. The flight was supposed to take place between 2:30 and 3:30 P.M. before Saturday's game with N.C. State. The message board  post contains the apparent full text of an email sent by a representative of AirSign, the vendor chosen by the protest organizers for this project, to event organizer Brian Stratton.

Hi Brian,
I have some not so good news unfortunately. My operations department just informed me that your flight isn't happening tomorrow. After talking to them about it they said our pilot was already booked when I scheduled your flight so they checked with 4 contractors/ vendors from as far as 450 miles away to try to get them to cover it for us but they are booked as well. Needless to say I am VERY unhappy about this because we have been planning this for months now, and we have the media there and everything! I have tried everything I can to resolve it to no avail.
Since the flight date isn't here yet accounting hasn't ran your card. But I wanted to see if It is possible to reschedule for the next game or what you want me to do. I am terribly sorry about this, I am just as ticked off about this as anyone, just finding out the day before the flight. I can assure you I WILL be taking actions on my end to ensure his doesn't happen again.
I hate to give you bad news on a Friday, but i figured it is better to be straight up with you than to give you some lame excuse tomorrow after you banner didnt show.
Let me know what you want me to do.

Keep in mind that this information is coming strictly from message board posts, and may not be entirely accurate. However, Stratton took the time to Tweet a cancellation message to the news media he had Tweeted earlier in the day with a new version of his group's press release.
