Nikita Whitlock and Michael Campanaro both earned accolades on Monday for their play during Saturday's 34-10 win over Maryland. Whitlcok, a redshirt senior nose guard, earned ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week honors for the second time this season after a dominating 5-tackle, 2-sack performance. Whitlock also received credit for 3 quarterback hurries for the game. Whitlock currently leads the country in tackles for loss (13.5).
Campanaro was honored with an appearance on the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll for his 11-catch, 122-yard display on Saturday. In addition, he was 2-2 through the air for 1 touchdown (to quarterback Tanner Price) making him just the third FBS player this millennium with two or more completions and eight or more receptions in a game. Campanaro's last reception of the afternoon was the 217th of his career, allowing him to take sole possession of the all-time Wake Forest receiving record previously held by Desmond Clark.
