Deacon Dump: Wake Forest and ACC Foes

Scrutinized after a rough Week 1 against Liberty, the Demon Deacons have their chance at redemption against a strong North Carolina. A home win versus the in-state foe would prove that Week 1 was merely an anomaly and the Deacs are a threat in the ACC. Though this is the only ACC game this week, several other ACC teams will be tested in non-conference games. Miami travels to Kansas State, Maryland plays at Temple, Virginia hosts Penn State and NC State faces Connecticut.

On the soccer pitch. Wake Forest men's and women's teams both are sporting phenomenal squads, ranked No. 15 and No. 17, respectively. They both face some tough tests this week.

UNC defense put on clinic against Elon - North Carolina -
North Carolina displayed its abilities in a 62-0 destruction of Elon. Their defense proved to be extremely athletic and physical. Sophomore running back Giovani Bernard showed he is a deserving early dark horse candidate for ACC Offensive Player of the Year, rushing for 93 yards and a touchdown on nine carries.

My Take on Wake - Ask and Ye Shall Receive |
Could the Deacs have a special surprise at the QB spot? Any chance highly-touted recruit and speedy freshman quarterback Kevin Sousa runs the wildcat? It sure would add an interesting element to this offense.
