This week could be the most jam-packed of the year for Wake Forest sports aficionados. No breaks-- big event after big event after big event.

Another basketball season opens on Friday night against Radford. Sporting seven freshman, this team has tremendous talent, but is a complete unknown. Certainly some promise, but Jeff Bzdelik needs more than potential to keep his job after this season.

Football is one win away from bowl eligibility at rival NC State-- also striving to reach the promise land of six wins. The Wolfpack were embarrassed last week at home by lowly Virginia. How will they respond? The Deacs are coming off a strong home victory over BC, where Michael Campanaro was a monster. But how will Campanaro play with stud cornerback David Amerson covering him?

Both soccer teams have had phenomenal seasons. The #10 Lady Deacs open their campaign to return to the illustrious College Cup at home against Georgia Southern at 7pm. The #13 men's squad will wait until Monday to learn their NCAA Tournament fate.A lot of intriguing sporting events this weekend. Get out and support! Go Deacs!
