Wake Forest has reached into the ranks of professional football to fill one of its vacant assistant coaching positions. Jonathan Himebauch, hired in December as the offensive coordinator of the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League, has told the organization he will leave to join the Wake Forest staff, according to multiple news accounts from Canada. Himebauch, a starting center for Southern California in 1996 and 1997, spent the past three seasons as offensive-line coach with the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL. He previously was offensive-line coach at San Diego State as well as an assistant at UNLV and Santa Barbara City College.
