Deacon Dump 10.12.11 (the real one)

Labeled yesterday as 10.12.11, that is apparently not the case, as today is in fact the real Oct. 12, 2011.

Today we are in full force in looking ahead to Virginia Tech this weekend with our links. I will get my "Three Up, Three Down," from Florida State up at some point today, so be on the lookout for that. Q and A's should be sometime tomorrow or Friday, and a preview will be coming to. Our schedule is so tough that we have to focus on just playing every week and not worrying too much about that stuff. It will be a little better to look back after the season and feel good about it if you win some games."

Midseason MVP: QB Tanner Price The Price Is Right this season for the talented lefty. The sophomore has 1,352 passing yards (more than all of last season), 10 touchdowns and only two interceptions. He has completed 62.3 percent of his passes, and the Deacons have the No. 18 passing offense in the country thanks to Price.

A closer look beyond the scores would show hints of offensive struggles leading up to the ACC opener against Clemson. Quarterback Logan Thomas conceded even he was surprised he only threw for 91 yards against the East Carolina defense. With 12 penalties and two turnovers, the Hokies were fortunate to escape ECU with a 17-10 road win in what would be their toughest nonconference game of the season.
