After an abundance of football prospects worked out in front of the Wake Forest staff this past weekend, several new offers went out to those that impressed. Orville Reynolds, a speedy running back out of Stoneman Douglas HS in Parkland, Florida, was one such player that received an offer as a result of his play at the camp. Evidently the feeling was mutual, as Reynolds decided to verbally commit to the Deacons Monday night as reported by DeaconsIllustrated.com.
Reynolds stands at only 5'7" and weighs in at about 175 lbs. In his junior season at the 6A program, he rushed for 1,329 yards and scored 16 TDs. He makes up for his small size with his speed and shiftiness and looks to be an all-purpose back at the next level as well. Prior to committing to the Deacs, Reynolds received offers from Duke, Marshall and Utah State and interest from Cincinnati and Northwestern, among others. He is the fifth member of the football class of 2011, joining the three offensive linemen and DB WIll Harlos.
He certainly has some impressive videos (more linked below) and will look to be the next diamond that Jim Grobe and staff have stolen from the state of Florida.
Welcome to Wake, Orville!
