Deacon Dump 4/22: Ghee ready for Draft Day, Pope officially hired as Wake assistant

Happy Draft Day! I know it isn't the same because it's just the first round, but there's something I really love about the NFL Draft. I always seem to have a ton of fun. Brandon Ghee will be in the green room this year, presumably more for Friday than today, but I guess you never know... There's a little info on that, a nice read on Lee Bedford (whom Riley interviewed yesterday as well) and some other nice little tidbits. Enjoy.

FayObserver.com - Wake Forest: A change of pace
An 'old' option The Demon Deacons were primarily an option offense when Jim Grobe first arrived as head coach. But Grobe gradually moved away from the option, especially the last four years with a pro-style quarterback in Riley Skinner running the offense. But with Skinner's graduation, Grobe went back to the misdirection, triple-option attack he learned as an assistant under Fisher DeBerry at Air Force. The system utilizes the backs and receivers rushing the ball, which could make junior Devon Brown a dual threat next fall. "He's very similar to Kenny Moore,'' Grobe said, referring to the ex-Deacon receiver now with the NFL's Carolina Panthers.

"Wake's (Wake Forest) probably showing the second most attention. I was at Wake last weekend. I got to take a personal tour. They took me down on the field and things like that. Joe Tereshinski (III) and Coach (Brian) Knorr were the coaches that took me on the tour. I really got to know them on a personal level. We probably talked for an hour. They told me they'll be coming to watch me this spring.
