A late start for me today as, yet again, I got another flat tire. Surprise! But I'm here and if you haven't taken a look at WakeJake's South preview, please do. We have the other three regions coming in the next 24 hours so keep an eye out. Also today we will be profiling Texas's Dexter Pittman and Damion James, spring practice starts today and baseball plays Gardner-Webb. Busy day to say the least.

It’s a bit of a surprise to see the Texas Longhorns favored by 4.5 at BoDog Sportsbook when you considering how up and down they’ve been this season heading into their 1st round 2010 NCAA tournament game against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. The total in the Texas vs Wake Forest game is set at 147. Texas has only covered the college basketball betting odds in 10 of their 29 lined games this year.
Previewing ACC Teams that made the NCAA tournament.
#9 seed Wake Forest Demon Deacons The Demon Deacons limped home to finish the season, but there's plenty of talent, athleticism, and size on this team. Any team with a combo of Ishmael Smith and Al Farouq Aminu can do some damage, but the funk they are in might be to much to overcome. How far can they go? Say Wake Forest catches fire and plays to their talent level, would it be that unbelievable to say they could beat Texas, Kentucky and couple of more games and get to the final 4? John Wall vs Ishmael Smith, Demarcus Cousins vs Aminu, those don't sound like total mis-matches to me. How far will they go? 1st Round

(8) Texas Longhorns vs. (9) Wake Forest Demon Deacons Longhorns are cattle that have big horns and are intelligent. Longhorn is also a chain of steakhouses. Demon Deacon came from a description of a 1923 Wake football game saying the team "fought like demons". Deacon was added and so was a mascot with a tuxedo and top hat. Since a longhorn can spear and kill a demon deacon, Texas gets the win.

If Wake guards us relentlessly, we lose. They need to extend, pressure, trap, press and generally mess with our world on ever possession with every two bit pressure tactic imaginable – even if they give up some easy baskets early. If they do that, turnovers will feed their offense, and our emotional delicacy will kick in such that they can get the win.
First reaction to the bracket - College Basketball Nation Blog - ESPN
I disagree with people forecasting a difficult second-round game for Kentucky. The matchup of Texas and Wake Forest is a pair of dead teams walking – both playing horrible basketball at this point. Everyone loves the Longhorns’ talent – but what has that talent done in the past two months to make anyone believe it is ready to rise up and beat the most talented team in the country?
