Ranking the ACC Units: Running Backs
The Deacs played musical chairs with their running backs last season. Coach Jim Grobe started the season with Josh Adams, switched to Brandon Pendergrass, and finished the year with Kevin Harris. Harris had 136 yards in the EagleBank Bowl, and is the likely starter for 2009. Wake Forest: The Demon Deacons play five of their first six at home; the road game is against Boston College, which has had a horrible offseason and looks as if it will struggle this season. But the home games in that span include contests against Baylor, Stanford and NC State. Wake needs to start at least 4-2, or it could be a bowl-less season for the Deacons.

QB Gabriel Henderson (6-0 189) of Raleigh, NC is getting interest from both Clemson and USC. Neither has offered yet. He has offers from Kent State, Buffalo, Western Carolina, NC A&T, and a verbal offer from Virginia Tech. Henderson visited Clemson, Wake Forest, Duke, and Virginia Tech for their junior days. He says each had something to offer. "I like the football atmosphere at Clemson." said Henderson. "Duke has great academics. Wake Forest has a good football team and Virginia Tech is a powerhouse."
