ACC Tournament First Round: VT Handles Miami

The ACC Tournament is finally underway in Atlanta!  Click through for recaps of today's action as the games go final.

Miami and Virginia Tech got things started today from the Georgia Dome.  Virginia Tech looked like a team hungry for a tournament bid as they trounced Miami 65-47.  The Hokies were paced by Malcolm Delaney's 17 points, which included 14 from the charity stripe.  A.D Vassallo and J.T. Thompson also chipped in 14 and 12 points, respectively.  Perhaps the biggest story of the game was the poor shooting of Miami, which astoundingly had zero players with double figure scoring and finished 33% from the floor.  The Hokies now move on to a date with the Tar Heels tomorrow at noon while Miami will be at home hoping for an NIT bid.

In other tourney news, Baylor knocked off #1 seed Kansas in the Big 12 tournament.  This is certainly good news for the Demon Deacons as they try to earn a two seed in the Big Dance.

Stay tuned for recaps of the rest of todays action!
