College basketball exhibitions heading to storage - Washington Times
There's also a preparation facet involved. Wake Forest coach Dino Gaudio, whose team plays one scrimmage and one exhibition, sets up an itinerary before a scrimmage. Ten minutes could be devoted to facing man defenses. Another 10 minutes could be allocated to using role players. There also could be shorter periods for working on specialty situations, such as inbound passes.
Crazie Talk " Blog Archive " ACC Rundown: Wake Forest
Bottom Line: Even with the loss of Teague and Johnson, this team should remain in the top half of ACC. I guess that simply tells you how good the Demon Deacons could have been last season. The senior leadership is there along with the young, talented big men in Aminu and Tony Woods. No one on this team will remind anyone of the Chris Paul or Tim Duncan days, but Dino Gaudio should lead this team back to the NCAA tournament. And this time, they should get out of the first round.

NCAA rules say that the visiting team is supposed to wear white jerseys, unless the visitors give the home team permission to wear its whites. The Deacons have traditionally opted to wear white when playing at Georgia Tech. Wake could still change its mind and switch.

My Take on Wake - Teammates Say C.J. Can Play | JournalNow.com
"I remember when he came as a sophomore and junior and played with us, and I had my questions about it, whether he could play on this level,‘’ McFarland said. "But he has improved every year. "He’s got a lot better handle on the ball. He’s got the ball on a string and he hardly ever turns it over. He can shoot. He’s really crafty and smart. Just about every time he gets to the hole he’s either getting fouled or it’s going in. He’s drawing a lot of contact.‘’ He’s also drawing a lot of attention from his head coach Dino Gaudio, who is counting on Harris to be, if not in the starting lineup, at least in the regular substitution rotation as a freshman.
Q&A With Wake Point Guard Ish Smith
Nah, but I worked out with Keith Booth from Maryland, and we have gained a really good relationship. The first thing he told me was, ‘Ish, I’ve watched you play for three years, and I know every move you’re going to do. You’re going to drive to the hole, shoot a floater, and do all that.’ But he’s told me, ‘Ish, I want you to work outside-in. I want you to have the ultimate confidence that you can knock down that shot, and that will be the first mind that you have. If someone backs up, you shoot the basketball.’ And it’s hard to get out of that mode because your whole life you’ve been driving to the basket, driving to the basket

College Chalktalk: Wake Forest coach Dave Wojcik
I must say the toughest man on the field that day must have been Chas McFarland. He would walk right up to you, chest out and fire his gun. It didn't matter how many times he was hit, he just kept coming and eventually you ended up retreating. We had a blast and it was great for our team camaraderie. We have a great group of kids who are a pleasure to be around.
