Deacs move on in men's soccer quarterfinals

I should have put this up yesterday, but I was out enjoying the Cavs' win over Orlando. The Demon Deacon men's soccer team moved on to the ACC Championship semifinals with a 3-0 win over Clemson.

The Deacs (14-3-2) were paced by freshman Andy Lubahn, who put in two goals. Luke Norman added the third. Despite the hiccup against BC, Wake Forest has hit a hot streak at the right time and are getting contributions from the whole team. This should hopefully prove to be a good sign of things to come in the NCAAs.

Other stat of note: Austin da Luz recorded his school-record 36th assist in the match.

Wake will take on Virginia in the semifinals. The Cavaliers won the first matchup 1-0 in a game dominated by the weather conditions. On the other side of the bracket, NC State shocked UNC with a win decided by PKs. Boston College also moved on.

Wake's match against UVA will take place Friday at 8 p.m.
