Wake Forest B-Ball Recruiting (2012-13)
Wake Forest Basketball Recruit Roundup Part II (Devin Thomas & Tyler Cavanaugh)
On Tuesday night a few writers got the chance to see Codi Miller-McIntyre and Andre Washington play for Hargrave Military Academy in Greensboro. We wrote some stuff about them and gave a brief projection of where we saw them next year and in the future for the Deacs. Obviously, we do not have resources or the means to see Devin Thomas and Tyler Cavanaugh play since they are a little farther north than Winston-Salem, but thanks to the internet and social media, we can still keep tabs on them.
This article is the second part of a three part series on our "Super Six" recruiting class and will focus on Devin Thomas and Tyler Cavanaugh. Both of these guys will be integral parts to our team next year because of their height and ability to rebound and play inside. Hopefully after reading the article, Wake fans will have a better idea of what to expect from Thomas and Cavanaugh next year in the Old Gold and Black. Enjoy!

It's been a while since we have had a recruiting update of any kind on here for basketball. We don't have a lot of information right now regarding the 2013/14 classes, which we will certainly gain in the next month or so with the Carolina Challenge on March 24th. We did, however, get the chance to drive over to Greensboro to see Hargrave Military Academy (31-0, #2 in the country for post-grad schools) take on the Guilford College JV team.
Wake Forest commits Codi Miller-McIntyre and Andre Washington both play for the Tigers, and as a matter of fact, are coached by former Deac A.W. Hamilton. Codi was extremely impressive on the night and really played within the offense. Andre got a couple of tacky fouls in the first half, but got a lot of playing time to accumulate a fair amount of rebounds.
Thoughts on both of them, as well as some videos of each of them from recent play are after the jump. This is a must read for anybody interested in the incoming recruits and how they might help us in the future.
This is Part I of a three part series checking in on the 2012 Wake Forest commits as they finish up their high school basketball careers and transition towards college this summer.

Wake Forest welcomes six new Deacs to the basketball family

The Wake Forest basketball family grew significantly Wednesday as six new members joined from the high school class of 2012. The festivities began on Tuesday as 6'8" small forward Aaron Rountree of Greenfield School in Wilson, NC held his signing ceremony after school. He officially faxed the paperwork in on Wednesday morning, the actual start of the early signing period. Joining Rountree is a pair of teammates from Hargrave Military Academy of Virginia, 6'3" point guard Codi Miller-McIntyre and 7'+ center Andre Washington. Both joined Hargrave this season in order to better prep for the competition that they will face in the ACC.
The highest rated player committing to the Deacs in this class is Arnaud Moto, an athletic and hard-nosed small forward who plays for former Deacon Jim Fitzpatrick at Episcopal High in Alexandria, Virginia. While Moto is only 6'6", he plays with a high energy level and is a good mid-range scoring threat. Where Rountree is more of a 6'8" guard with great vision and ball-handling ability for his size, Moto should provide an extra scoring and rebounding punch in the mold of current Deacon Travis McKie.
Rounding out the class are Tyler Cavanaugh and Devin Thomas. Cavanaugh, who chose Wake over a late push from Syracuse, is a 6'8" face up forward from Dewitt, NY. Another versatile player, Cavanaugh has range all the way out to the three-point line and a good feel for the game. Thomas is a rugged power forward from Harrisburg, PA who has been recently listed as 6'9" 230. Coach Bzdelik and staff hope that he can provide the extra rebounding punch that Wake has been missing for the last couple years.
All-in-all this class provides several key pieces that should help Wake climb back into the top quarter of the ACC within the next few seasons. Look for Miller-McIntyre to become the vocal leader of the group, as he has the complete package to lead the Deacs in every facet of the game. Moto, Washington, Thomas, Cavanaugh and Rountree all provide much needed size and have varying skillsets that should complement each other very well. ESPN rates the class as the 14th best class in the country, while Scout.com rates it as 13th.
Welcome to the Wake Forest family, we can't wait to see you in the Old Gold and Black!

6'8 PF Tyler Cavanaugh Commits to Wake Forest (2012)
According to several Twitter sources (NBE Sports, Recruit Scoop, etc.) Tyler Cavanaugh has committed to Wake Forest. All of the sources have said that this is a big pick-up for the Deacs after Cavanaugh wowed scouts all summer on the AAU circuit. Obviously we need a big guy, and Tyler fills this need. Hopefully he will turn out to be the player that the scouts have come around on!
Welcome to Winston-Salem Tyler!!!
Stefan Jankovic Cuts List to 5
A day after visiting Wake Forest, Stefan Jankovic (2012) has cut his list to 5 schools. Wake Forest stands a pretty good chance of landing Stefan in my opinion. He is a great kid that we talked to in early April, when we were his favorite.
Any other information that we get about Jankovic we will update with on here immediately or Twitter!
2012 WFU Basketball Recruiting Update (Jankovic visits Wake 8/11)
As the 2012 recruiting process is in full blast right now, Wake Forest has essentially cut their list down to 10-15 prospects that they want to take. While the staff will continue to evaluate and talk to other players, the players listed above are the primary (and only) targets that we are looking at right now.
Wake Forest 2012-2013 Basketball Recruiting MegaThread
Thanks to Zack Stonz for getting all of this information together. We will keep it updated, and keep it featured on the side of BSD for easy access for everybody. This is also a thread that we can discuss recruits, strategies, who we are going after, and any other questions that may be posed about the recruiting process.
In short, this is all the information that you will ever need to know about Wake Forest's 2013 recruiting class. It will be updated very frequently, and we will attempt to conduct interviews with nearly everybody on this list to get inside their heads about what schools they hold in high regards. If there is anything that you want us to do, you can ask us and we will throw that up there too if at all feasible.
Hope this provides a lot of solid information so you can all wow your friends with your Wake Forest knowledge. It will also provide y'all a chance to help out with the site. Anything that you see on these players/or any other player that is not up here can be linked in the comment section and we will throw that up there. When the high school basketball season starts, if you live near a guy on here, you can go see a couple of games and let us know what you think of the player. All of this will help out tremendously, and make this the "go-to" place for Wake Forest basketball recruiting.
