The Wake Forest women's basketball team fell 73-63 to the seventh-ranked Maryland Terrapins Friday night at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum. The Deacons entered Friday's game in the midst of a four-game losing streak marked by an inability to take care of the basketball.
Friday night's game was more of the same for the struggling Deacons, as they turned the ball over 23 times en route to their fifth straight loss. The Deacons (10-13, 3-8 ACC) were led by junior Chelsea Douglas (17 points) and senior Asia Williams (13 points, 8 rebounds). Lakevia Boykin added 12 points for the Deacs.
Wake Forest found themselves down by as many as 20 points in the second half before rallying to get within three. In the end, the Terrapins (19-3, 10-1 ACC) pulled away thanks to made foul shots by Alyssa Thomas.
