UNC, NC State, Duke, and Wake Forest..

Wake Forest finished 54th out of 72 claimed attendance figures from participating schools, which doesn't mean much because we are a small school. Unfortunately, we finished last in claimed attendance (reported generously by the Athletic Office as 4,200) among similarly situated schools - well behind Vanderbilt and Duke. Vanderbilt wowed with more claimed attendees (14,000) at its spring game than schools like Wisconsin (12,050) and West Virginia (8,000). The rising Duke football program drew about 1,000 (5,213) more to its spring game.

Rant Sports' M. Shannon Smallwood and I had a chat about Wake Forest's (and all private schools') ability to compete in the evolving college football environment. Admittedly, neither of us are Wake fans though, so would be great to get some feedback from folks a little closer to the program.
