Mitchell chose Wake Forest over Maryland, Nevada, Fresno State, SMU, and Florida Gulf Coast. He committed on September 13th, 2015, and did so while on an official visit to Wake Forest. He is a three-star recruit according to 247Sports, and the 148th player in the 2016 recruiting class.

He shows a good handle and also appears to be able to shoot the three in transition a bit, which is somewhat unique for a 6-8 power forward. His 190 pound frame will have plenty to add onto, and although I am speculating at this point, it is very possible that he is more of a stretch 4 (think Dinos), than a standard pound it inside to him 4.
We are very excited to have Donovan at Wake and can't wait to see him next year when he gets to campus!
