Shaka Smart is the most sought after head coaching candidate this offseason and for good reason. At just 36 years of age, he's already been to the Final Four, won the C.B.I., won at least 26 games in each of his five seasons, and has now made four consecutive NCAA Tournaments. His teams employ a "Havoc" defense which create chaos for opposing offenses and bring joy to the VCU fans in the arena.
Rumors were rampant yesterday that Shaka Smart to Marquette was a 'done deal' yesterday, but those were proven to be incorrect. Riley Johnston did an excellent job recapping yesterday's events.
Re: Shaka Smart - A lot of internet rumors out there, but according to my convo with VCU folks this morning, there's nothing to report.
