A quick update on our net points in ACC play over Bzdelik's time at Wake, current through the end of the regular season. I updated the Bzdelik-era margin figures, which are now found at the bottom of this post. I also split the figures year-by-year to see if there were any trends. Here are those numbers:
This is pretty damning, I think. Since last year (largely the same team but freshmen instead of sophomores) the team has fallen from averaging a 4.8 point win at home to averaging a half point loss at home (while staying pretty flat with a 15 point loss average away from the Joel). Overall, last year we averaged a 5.7 point loss each game, while this year we've
almost doubled that, to averaging a 9.4 point loss averaged a 7.6 point loss (this figure thankfully evened out a little since the UNC disaster).
There's not much to say here, except that over four years as an ACC-paid basketball coach, Bzdelik has averaged a 10 point loss across all ACC games.
