Redshirt seniors Michael Campanaro and Justin Jackson will be Wake Forest's student-athlete representatives at this year's ACC Football Kickoff, per a release this morning from the ACC. The event will be held July 21-22 at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, NC. Campanaro and Jackson are two of the 28 student-athletes representing the 14 conference members for football.
Campanaro, a second-team All-ACC selection by the media and coaches last year, comes into 2013 following surgery to repair his ailing ankle. The standout wide receiver was All-Conference despite sitting two games last season due to a hand injury. An injury-free season for Campanaro likely means he will break Desmond Clark's school record for career receptions (216).
Jackson goes into the new season as part of a defense that is quickly building a national buzz. He returns as the leading tackler from 2012, recording 40 solo tackles. National pundits believe that this could be the best Deacon defense since the days of Aaron Curry, Alphonso Smith and Stanley Arnoux, and it will lean heavily on Jackson's senior leadership and experience.
