101 Things to Love about Wake Forest

Wake Forest Magazine has released its Summer 2013 issue, and the main feature is an article entitled "101 Things We Love About Wake Forest". Flipping through, I thought that the contributors did a great job on encapsulating much of what is right about the university. Given the negativity surrounding the athletic department in general, I figured I'd link to this article to help others - if they so choose - try and redeem their mental image of the university. I'd be willing to wager that for everybody close to the university, there are at least 10 entries on the list that will make you smile. So give it a read through when you have a moment, and feel free to share what makes you love Wake Forest (either on the list or omitted from it) in the comments below!

Wake Forest Magazine's "101 Things We Love About Wake Forest"

My favorites:

#2: Ed Wilson - My only complaint is that he's not #1.

#21: Cook-Out - Cook-out tray with 1/4 lb burger with cheese and bacon, fries and hush puppies, and an Oreo shake. Damn right.

#32: The Reynolda Estate - My parents were married there, and it's still as lovely as can be year-round.

#43: Tribble Hall - I still don't understand the floor arrangements.

#44: The Rhodes Scholars - I was friends with Michelle Sikes during my undergrad, and have spoken briefly with Brandon Turner. Wake cannot ask for better representatives, and I'm genuinely proud of what they've been able to accomplish.

#72: Casa Artom - I've been fortunate to spend over a year of my life living in the palazzo (two semesters and a summer growing up, one semester as a student), and I will always consider it my home away from home.

#85: Rolling the Quad - For reasons that need not be said.

#90: The Shot - Also for reasons that need not be said.
