Coming off the heels of a crushing of the Michigan Wolverines, the defending national champions Alabama claimed the number one spot in the SBNation Blogpoll after Week 1. This is the perfect example of why preseason polls are completely worthless. While USC didn't exactly struggle against Hawaii, there is little doubt that Alabama is the #1 team in the country at this point.
Michigan plummeted from 8th to 19th, a result of getting thoroughly dominated by Bama. Tennessee emerged at #24 after defeating N.C. State on Friday night in Atlanta.
There weren't any real big surprises this week, but a lot of the voters struggled with where to put Oklahoma State, Ohio State and Florida State after their big weeks. Time will tell whether or not these teams are contenders or pretenders.
