We experienced—and lived—Y2K, saw the United States embark in two wars (and drop out of one), watched the incessant fall of the mighty sluggers Bonds, Sosa and McGwire, and witnessed Wake Forest make an improbable run to a BCS Bowl all more recently than seeing Duke defeat the Demon Deacons. The Deacs have defeated their in-state rivals 12 times in a row, dating back to 1999—the Jim Caldwell era.
But both teams enter the game this weekend at 3-1 and Duke thinks its the year to end the streak. Last few seasons have come awfully close, especially last year's 24-23 victory on a 66 yard reception by Chris Givens in the fourth quarter.
