ACC pods with only 14 teams?

What if the ACC wanted to go to 4 pods (2 per division) right now?
What would it look like? Who would you want to be with Wake Forest?

If the ACC went to pods right now, there would be 2 with 3 teams and 2 with 4 teams.
The pods might look something like this:

Pod A: BC, Syracuse, Pitt
Pod B: Maryland, NC St, Wake

Pod C: VT, UVa, UNC, Duke
Pod D: Clemson, GT, FSU, Miami

For Pod A, play the other 2, plus 2/3 of Pod B, plus 4/4 of either Pod C or D
(Pod B does just the opposite) 2 + 2 + 4 = 8 games

For Pod C, play the other 3, plus 2/4 of Pod D, plus 3/3 of either Pod A or B
(Pod D does the opposite). 3+2+3 = 8 games

Ex. Wake would still get to play NC St and Maryland every year
BC, Syracuse and Pitt would be 2 out of 3 years
ALL OTHER ACC TEAMS would be 2 out of 4 years! (That's right - with this plan you'd play UNC & VT, as well as Clemson & FSU home & away every 4 years).
Each player would get to play every ACC team home & away before he graduates – assuming he stays all 4 years.

There would only be a need for 8 conference games per year, leaving 4 non-conference games for Vandy + 3 discretionary games.

What do you think? I describe the whole thing in detail on my blog – Pods Now!
