WFU Football: Deacs land top ten center for 2013 Class in Cory Helms

Stay connected for news and updates
Wake Forest received a huge commit today as Cory Helms, the No. 9 center according to Scout and No. 7 according to Rivals in the 2013 class, committed to Jim Grobe and the Demon Deacons.

Helms hails from Alpharetta, Ga and plays at Milton High School. He had interest from many high level schools and had offers from Cincinnati, Colorado State, ECU, North Carolina, South Florida, Syracuse, Troy and Utah State.

The big guy is 6'4, 290 according to Scout, and while more information should come out in the next few days, he looks to be a fantastic signing for the Deacs for the future. Helms recently visited Syracuse and South Florida, but ultimately decided that Wake Forest was the place where he wanted to be for the next 4-5 years. This will hopefully start to develop a little momentum on the recruiting trail, where the Demon Deacons are still trying to lock down their 2013 class.
