Who is your ideal Wake Forest men's basketball coach?

The Wake Forest men's basketball season tips off tonight with a game against Radford in Joel Coliseum. Head coach Jeff Bzdelik is prominently on the hot seat (putting it generously) or potentially the subject of a lynch mob (putting it realistically). You, me, and your friend's grandmother know that it is highly unlikely that Bzdelik survives to coach next season's team - obviously I'm not in charge of such a decision, but the person who is knows that he could very well be the subject of the next lynch mob if this season ends poorly and a change is not made.

So what I want to bring up is this: instead of an exercise listing candidates who it is extremely far-fetched that we could lure from their current positions ('sup Mark Few, Brad Stevens, and Shaka Smart?), I thought I'd try something different. Below are some categories which are part of the average college basketball coach's job. What I want from you, the reader, are suggestions about what attributes you would like our coach to have moving forward.

And to make this a bit more interesting, there's a catch: I want you to rank your ideal coaching candidate in each category, but keeping in mind that you only have a certain number of dollars to spend, with increases in each attribute costing a certain amount of money. To make things even more difficult for you, these increases will become more costly the more attributes you allot. Also, not all categories cost the same, so beware.

Got that? Okay, let's give this a shot.

Rules: Because we're a small school and we are still paying off the costs of Deacon Tower at BB&T Field Groves Stadium, you have $50 to allocate to the coaching attributes of your choice. If you are Don Flow and are willing to pony up some extra cash, you can have an extra $10 dollars (and some of the repair guys at your Subaru dealership broke my driver's-side window... you should get your manager to yell at them).

The Premium Attribute:

Scale: 0-10, with 0 being a person with no experience and 10 being someone with sustained and proven outstanding success

Cost: 0: $0; 1: $1; 2: $2; 3: $3; 4: $5; 5: $8; 6: $13; 7: $20; 8: $35; 9: $60; 10: $150

Attribute 1) Recruiting: How well does this coach recruit?

Middling Attributes:

Scale: 0-10, with 0 being a person with no experience and 10 being someone with sustained and proven outstanding success

Cost: 0: $0; 1: $1; 2: $2; 3: $3; 4: $4; 5: $5; 6: $8: 7: $ 13; 8: $20; 9: $40; 10: $100

Attribute 2) Player Development: How well does a coach develop players over the course of their careers?

Attribute 3) X's and O's: How well does a coach teach offensive and defensive schemes?

Attribute 4) Adaptability: How well does this coach adapt to changing circumstances?

Scale: 0-10, with 0 being a person who is an abject failure at this attribute and 10 being a person who is an unqualified and total success in this attribute

Attribute 5) Personality: How well does a coach manage personal relationships (with players, with the media, with fans, with Ron Wellman)?

Attribute 7) Style: How attractive a style of basketball does this coach teach?
