GameThread: North Carolina @ Wake Forest -- #StilmanGotLoveForTheStreets
North Carolina Tar Heels at Wake Forest Demon Deacons, Jan 31, 2012 9:00 PM EST
In honor of my moonlighting gig at the StarNews, this game is dedicated to UNC (and Hoggard product) freshman Stilman White, who has been thrust into the backup PG role after Dexter Strickland's injury.
UNC (18-3, 5-1, KenPom 8) @ Wake Forest (11-10, 2-5, KenPom 206). ESPNU. 9PM.

I may or may not be able to be there in person.
I suddenly feel a bit like my head is in a vice. Hooray.

I'll be watching from home, everybody.
Feeling better but still shaky. Really hoping the Tie-Dye Nation can help pick up my slack.

ESPN has Dino doing the pregame commentary
Nice. Appreciate them bringing up that he was 2-2 against UNC.
Yeah, that was interesting to see.

Both UNC buckets have been on 50/50 balls.
Sweet lord, TC.

3 UNC buckets, 3 offensive rebounds.
Damn it.

I do not love Jay Bilas.
He went to Duke, which makes him a Weenie.
Yes, but he is an excellent analyst.
Possibly the best college bball analyst working (although Raftery’s great too).
Nikita trying to take over.
Not good news.

I love Chase Fischer.
I wish he could find his stroke.

It still looks so good.
Jay Bilas: That’s where Ty Walker will develop in the future.
Jay, he’s a senior.
Hairston probably just concussed Ty Walker again.

Reminds me of one of my favorite sports stories.
British soccer player was knocked out and woke up in the hospital. When informed that the player had no idea who he was, his manager responded: “Brilliant. Tell him he’s Pele.”

For god's sake, TC.
Point guard play is EASILY our biggest problem.

Chase is our best PG.
Seriously.

That move by CJ on that jumper was FILTHY.

Chase is off.
SHUT THE HELL UP CAROLINA PEOPLE
I HATE YOU
GO BACK TO YOUR CRAPPY FRANKLIN STREET AND YOU FREE BOJANGLES EVERY OTHER GAME
Poor Chase.
He gets SO MANY good looks, and we know he can shoot, he just can’t seem to find it.

Over/Under on number of times it's mentioned during halftime that Gaudio coached us...
17.5
Take the over.
What we need
I still think that the ting we are missing, and have been missing, is a real power forward. When is the last time we had a quality PF? Part of our PG problem is they can never just dump it inside to an inside presence. They have to run around and try to find a cutter.
I stand by my earlier concept.
I’d gladly trade any and all PFs or PGs for more consistently outscoring the other team.
Seriously though, we’re getting molested because we can’t hit a shot and CJ/McKie are getting swallowed by bigger defenders. A PF or PG wouldn’t change that.
Literally if we were shooting even 40%, we would be winning.
This is infuriating.
Contributing Writer for Blogger So Dear, SBN's Wake Forest Blog
I am so disgusted right now.
We should be winning, legit.

Slipping away...
Last year’s Ohio State team was a legitimately great team. They played their worst game of the season and barely lost to one of the four most talented teams in the countries. You’re wrong Jay.
And your suit is ugly.
It might also be a good time to point out...
… that Ty chose us over Carolina. I think the last recruit to do so in a direct head-to-head recruiting battle.
I want to love this team.
But they are making it literally impossible.
Contributing Writer for Blogger So Dear, SBN's Wake Forest Blog
They are fighting.
But it’s pretty painfully apparent that roster + scheme as currently constructed just isn’t good enough. Can’t do anything about roster at this point, so we need to be tweaking scheme.
McKie can't consistently shoulder an offense.
And Harris is susceptible to big defenders and off shooting nights.
Chennault’s losing his cool. Might be time to get him out of there.
68-53 final.
Haiku time
Good effort all game
But overall skill still lacking
Eff those blue-clad fans
I've got one of my own coming on.
