According to Jeff Goodman of FoxSports.com
In 22 seasons at Maryland, Williams won 461 games, including a national championship in 2002. I am very interested to see where Maryland will go from here, and not sure why Gary did not announce his retirement earlier to not damage any commitments from coming to Maryland.
Best of luck to Gary in whatever endeavor he goes into after this, the ACC won't be the same without him.
Update: Robert Ehsan to take over as interim head coach. Ehsan has been a coach for 6 years on Williams staff.
