Smart says "No" to N.C. State

N.C. State’s search for a basketball coach will move on to a new top target, as sources indicate that Virginia Commonwealth’s Shaka Smart has withdrawn from consideration for the job. As reported earlier today on ACCSports.com, the Wolfpack made a detailed presentation to Smart last weekend. According to sources, Smart was offered a six-year deal worth approximately $2 million per year. Most sources have said that it is not State, but Debbie Yow that coaches don't want to work for. State has struck out on several high major coaches, and you would have to think that Gregg Marshall is the obvious choice now. Also is interesting to watch this as a Wake fan because it shows what we might have gone through last year, and may go through soon.
