Going with
Virginia over Miami
NC State over Maryland
VPI over the Wreck
BC over Wake
Although all of these games could go down to the wire – it will be good basketball. And here is some optimism for JoshuaR – I do think Wake keeps this game close for awhile – just can’t see a senior laden team like BC laying an egg. Here’s to JTT hitting 7 threes today to keep us in it!
+1 Sexton
I am also wearing my Wake garb. Got the gold and black button down and WF silk tie. I even think they might take BC. The Eagles may be looking past them to Clemson. I also think the Pack will take the terps. MD has been in a slide of late. I also like UVA and VA Tech. I am concerned about Stewart, though. I wondered why he didn’t play in the last game very much. That could hurt, but we’ll see. The two key factors, as always; don’t turn it over and don’t let them get on big runs. Just call me Capt Obvious…..
UVA up 11 with 2 and a half left.
They’ve gone on a 23-2 run or something ridiculous like that
How the...
Suddenly a tie game, Miami shooting one with 13.9?
3 pointers
And missed free throws.
Man, the wahoos missed a bunch of free throws and they have wake forest like inability to get the ball inbounds….
A 10-0 run in 29 seconds.
That is…mind boggling.
AHAHAHAHA OH MY GOD.
Looks like OT
Man that last second chance by miami was poorly done.
This game is just...mind boggling.
UVA has collapsed in this game worse than anything Wake has done this year.
Hahahaha.
Travis is LITERALLY a one man wrecking crew.
How are we so bad in transition?
It boggles my mind.
Tough day for you mind Foochs
Thats a lot of boggling for one day…
Ain't that the truth.
Ugh, I despise how we don’t even try to offensive rebound.

Uh oh
McKie leaves the floor down 3 – 2 minutes later, we’re down 8
Not sure
Why we are sticking with Walker & Nikita right now.
Desrosiers was looking great on D and Travis was our offense – don’t think its a coincedence with them out we have no offense and our rotation on defense sucks….
sweet

So do we really look this bad every game? I’ve kinda zoned out on us since Winthrop.

im thinking they look pretty good considering
how do you compete with 52.9% from three and 58.1% from the floor?

Depends
Our offense normally doesn’t look this good – we’ve actually played ok in that respect.
This is basically our defense – late rotating over, consistently leaving people wide open, biting on pump fakes and having absolutely no nose for a rebound.
Good news? Maybe they put in their subs in the second half and we catchup…
More or less.
We’re handling the ball better this game though, and the scoring is usually more balanced.

rebounding would help

WHY are we so bad on D?
I seriously think Coach Bzdelik doesn’t really coach as much D because he’s trying to coach his “special” offense.
You would think we would have learned something from a couple of days ago
Guess not – I mean, sure BC is shooting ridiculously well, but all of their 3’s have been wiiiiiiide open – its like practice.
Definitely bad defense on Wake, not necessarily good offense from BC.
I'm just glad I didn't take us +17,500 for the title
Although $1750 for a $10 bet isn’t too bad of a return.

21
There it is, down 20 in the second half- glad we are keeping our streak…
COLOR ME SHOCKED!
Playing hard D and just running hard with gifted athletes actually works!
Friggin’ Princeton…
Nice shot by JTT
Followed by an air ball by clark
That shot by Gary was just tough luck.
It slipped out of his hands. We know he can shoot the rock.

I think I've realized what the problem is.
I think Coach is so focused on the Princeton offense, he’s not teaching much D. We now see what the results are. Clumsy execution of the offense, and no D.

at ten minutes Bzz will reveal his plan…spend the entire season flying under the radar, then deuces sucka, light em up, half way through the second half of game one of the acc tourny, put up 30 in a 30-0 run and begin their march to the acc title

Probably aren't
The thought is that 2012 is going to be the year
I'm not gonna start that line of thinking before literally anything happens.
McKie’s great, Terrell is consistently good at times great, CJ is a baller, Tony Chennault is coming into his own more, we’re only losing G$ (who granted is a big loss), and we’re getting more young blood.
by SamuraiFoochs on Mar 10, 2011 4:47 PM EST up reply actions
To clarify...
I’m not guaranteeing next year will be better, but it DAMN sure can’t be worse.
by SamuraiFoochs on Mar 10, 2011 4:48 PM EST up reply actions
yeah I think any time your RPI is below Utah Valley and Southern Utah, it’s only up from here.
by Quincy's Connect on Mar 10, 2011 4:51 PM EST up reply actions
Pretty much!
And you can’t tell me Travis and JT aren’t going to ball hard next year.
by SamuraiFoochs on Mar 10, 2011 4:52 PM EST up reply actions
Please god let this be the case
Just remember…it actually CAN be worse.
I hope this is one of those things in 20 years where we look back and laugh about how awful the year was…
What makes you think it would be though?
The entire team will be older/more experienced, it’ll be Coach Bzdelik’s second year, and we’re bringing in another true PG with great handles, so barring absolute armageddon, we won’t have a “No PG” type situation next year like we did this year, and again, we’re only losing one guy.
by SamuraiFoochs on Mar 10, 2011 5:23 PM EST up reply actions
Let’s get this straight – I don’t think it will be worse…but I am not discounting the fact that it could be. Why could next year be worse? Here are a few reasons:
1) Although there was some progress, we didn’t see much through the year, so why should we expect it to happen between this year and next year?
2) We aren’t really going to improve down low. Rebounding was one of our biggest struggles (along with turnovers) all year, as was stopping other teams inside.
3) Other teams (at least in the ACC) should get better too.
Next year we should be more "competitive"
Probably not much better though.
Deacdiggler has it right – you can’t expect Fischer, Green and Fields to come in and be huge impact guys (especially when you have to rotate Fisher and Fields in with Chennault, Harris & Terrell – not enought minutes to go around). The word on Green is that he is a little bit of project, will be a solid player in year 2 or 3.
So, we basically bring back the same team (minus Gary Clark). The positives? One more year in the system. The negatives? Still no real inside presence, not sure how much “progress” was made this year – still do not have players that “fit” the Bzdelik system.
I enjoyed watching this game and i think our players played hard today – but it was a back against the wall game.
Dunno, not sure how we will win more than 3 or 4 ACC games next year.
I don't think we'll be MUCH better...
But I’m pretty sure we don’t have to worry about losing to teams like friggin’ Stetson next year, for example.
by SamuraiFoochs on Mar 10, 2011 5:48 PM EST up reply actions
Dang - I was pretty close on my prediction
I said 80-66….
Colorado
Looks to be pulling the upset on K State – could that get them into the dance?
And what does that say about Buzz?
I’ve been trying to figure out whether Colorado’s relative success (compared to their previous success) this year has been because of what Buzz set up or because he left.
I've wondered about this quite a bit too
