After a season that saw Chris Givens finish with one of the best receiving years in Wake Forest history, the junior has decided to leave Wake Forest for the next level.
"Next year, I'll be forgoing my senior year and going to the NFL Draft," Givens said.
Speaking after the Demon Deacons 23-17 loss to Mississippi State in the Music City Bowl, Givens cited a third-round projection as part of the reason for making his decision.
"Going over the pros and cons, Givens said, "this is the best decision for me."
Givens finishes his Wake Forest career with 163 receptions and 2,473 yards. His 21 career touchdowns receptions are tied for third all-time in Demon Deacon history.
The junior was largely disappointing in the Music City Bowl, finishing with 54 yards on 9 receptions. He dropped a couple passes early and was out of sync with quarterback Tanner Price. The decision came the day before the bowl game, and there is little doubt that it had an effect on Givens' performance during the game.
