The game was a little more nerve wracking than initially expected, but nevertheless the Deacs were able to come up with a stop and remain undefeated in conference play.
Here's a quick rundown of yesterday's game after the jump...
Tanner Price: 19/29 252 yards 1 TD 1 INT
Once again, Price was excellent today. His first half was better than his second, but the offense also had better field position in the first half.
Josh Harris: 19 carries 60 yards 1 TD
Josh Harris had his best game of the season. He is going to need to be huge for us next weekend if we want to beat Florida State.
Chris Givens: 7 receptions 132 yards 1 TD
Terrence Davis: 2 receptions 63 yards
Danny Dembry: 3 receptions 42 yards
Michael Campanaro: 4 receptions 31 yards
Another great game for Chris Givens and the rest of the receivers. Givens took that bubble pass to the house, and the rest of the receivers were able to be solid possession receivers and move the chains. Incredible catch by Terrence Davis on that 3rd and 15. If he didn't make that incredible catch, then it could have been a different outcome. This is the best receiving core that Wake has ever had. They run smart routes and never seem to drop passes.
On the defensive end, Bud Noel was a standout. He is a playmaker, and he fears no one when he is on the field. The entire defense did a very solid job of containing Montel Harris and avoided giving up big plays. I really believe this young defense will be able to make Florida State work very hard next Satuday.
