Glad the fans finally decided to show up. Like our hustle so far. Wake up 8?!

Not surprised at this really. Team is amped to play Duke, helped by crowd. Can they sustain it as game continues?

Yeah, I had a feeling we'd look sharp early. Easy to get up for Duke.

Good question though…does the dam burst and Duke go on their patented run(s)?

I mean, I can see using Tabb because you need to rebound but he does not rebound. Nor can he guard Kelly on the perimeter.

by JoshuaR on Jan 22, 2011 4:53 PM EST reply actions

Best-Case Scenario

After we lose, Ron Wellman takes the floor and fires Bzdelik in front of everyone, then says he’ll demand someone worth of Wake Forest.

The crowd goes wild, raaaaaah!

by Grand Tanyon Sturtze on Jan 22, 2011 5:30 PM EST reply actions

And there’s that Duke run. Lot of it to do with lack of D by Tabb. When Kelly drops 15, it goes to show something.

by JoshuaR on Jan 22, 2011 5:34 PM EST reply actions

Why so hard on Tabb?

If you want to call him out.. what about Ty Walker. How long before he develops?

jfizzle86... Go DEACS!!

Fine

At least Walker blocks shots, what does Tabb do? Not saying Walker is good but Tabb has been awful.

Carson took his time getting up off the floor (on top of a Duke guy)

Then Singler got in the middle of it, pushed somebody.

Plumlee put his face in there and started jabbering, JT got in another dude’s face…tech on JTT at the end of it. Nothing else.

Ehh..JT gave a little shove. Thought refs should have found someone on Duke to give tech to, that seems like both teams are at fault.

Elmore

Used to like him, has been terrible this game.

- Mad at JT for falling down after being elbowed in nose
- Praising Duke leaders for breaking up fight (did not really happen – in fact, Singler escalated it)

by JoshuaR on Jan 22, 2011 6:05 PM EST reply actions

Well...

For the first time all year, I BELIEVED they were capable of hanging with one of the best teams in the nation.

I’ll take that much.

The Bzdelik Dumpster Fire Burns Hotter, More Putridly

With this most recent shi* of the proverbial bed, our average margin of loss to in-conference opponents is now up to 26 points. As if it could get any worse, it is.

by Grand Tanyon Sturtze on Jan 23, 2011 2:58 AM EST reply actions

Fortunately in this game, the final score did not reflect the way Wake played. MUCH better game. I Thought the deacs hung tough and played like they are capable of and more like I expected (saw the talent and hard work along with the youthful mistakes).
Some thoughts:
- Wake started to flounder once the clock started getting low and they got the technical. Ill-advised shots (JTT should be benched every time he throws up one of those hope and prayer shots with more than 5 seconds on the shot clock), too much pressing on offense (which led to turnovers), and some sloppy D. That’s when Duke really put the nail in the coffin and opened up that lead from a 10-15 point lead to a 25 point lead.
- If we play like that the rest of the season we will get an ACC win.
-The right call was the double T (especially since it all started because Derosiers got pulled down while trying to get that rebound). Both teams at fault.
