The week got off to a good start for Coach Jim Grobe and staff as three-star defensive end Desmond Floyd committed to Wake Forest. Floyd, who currently stands at 6'5", 230 lbs plays his high school ball at Union County HS in Union, SC. Floyd is the ninth player in the Deacs' 2011 class and had a formidable offer sheet including West Virginia, Wisconsin, Maryland, South Carolina, N.C. State and Kentucky.
Floyd is also an impressive student, boasting a 4.02 GPA. Add this to his large frame, which should be able to pack on plenty of pounds under a college strength program, and he has the potential to be quite a haul for the Demon Deacons.
