Actual footage of Jake and Martin in "preparing" for this challenge.
All of us here on Blogger So Dear think we know a lot about ACC basketball. It's now time to put that to the test. Martin, Jake, Rob, Bart, Zach, and myself will pick all of the games played by an ACC team during this basketball season. We will pick straight up, and see how we compare against each other.
The first game is tonight (Maryland vs. Seattle), and I have the spreadsheet of the picks for the ACC games this week, which will be posted after the jump. Feel free to chime in, and especially to taunt and make fun of us, as we put these posts out here for all of America to see.
Soon to come, we will have: our conference champion picks for all the major conferences, the predicted order of the ACC, first team AA's, and the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd team choices the all freshman team, as well as our Final Four picks. Should be a fun way to see how we do throughout the season.
- All of the picks are the same for the first week (through Sunday), except Martin inexplicably believes William and Mary will defeat UVA. He may in fact be right, but I have a feeling we will all be laughing at him by the end of this week.
- We all (well except for Marty) should have 15 wins and 0 losses after this week, barring any huge upsets. We will also probably need these wins after we get into the flow of things with the season.
- Also included is the KenPom rankings. The reason I put this in here is the constant debate between statistical models and people that use the "eye test". So not only are our "experts" competing against each other, but a computer model devised by Ken Pomeroy. To read more about his predictions, and to check out his site in general, here is the link
