WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest head basketball coach Jeff Bzdelik announced on Monday that freshman forward Melvin Tabb (Raleigh, N.C./Enloe) will take a leave of absence from the basketball team. "We are temporarily releasing Melvin Tabb from basketball responsibilities until he can respond appropriately to what is expected of him academically," said Bzdelik. Tabb is averaging 2.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 11 minutes of action in three games. Tabb had missed portions of preseason practice due to a bout of mononucleosis. He missed the season opener against Stetson due to the illness. Bzdelik did not set a date for Tabb's return.
