Garcia and James round out Saturday's Wake trifecta

Not many days in Wake Forest football recruiting history were as good as Saturday.  After receiving the big news that Merrill Noel had decided to become a Deacon instead of a Seminole, the staff also logged commitments from Jonathan Garcia and Matt James.

Garcia is a 6'3", 230 pound tight end that the Wake staff fell in love with during camp.  His stock has gone up during the various summer camps, especially the 7-on-7 combine in Tampa.  Scouts note that the Cape Coral, Florida native is an excellent blocker from the TE position and also possesses soft hands and solid measurables.  In addition to these attirbutes, he is an excellent student and is focused on getting better every time he hits the field.

James is a 6'5", 200 pound wide receiver who plays his high school football at Sanderson High in Raleigh, NC.  He is being recruited as an athlete and could end up on either side of the ball, although he wants a try at receiver before it is all said and done.  This three-star recruit chose to be a Demon Deacon over offers from Maryland, Virginia Tech and West Virginia, among others.

Welcome to Wake, Jonathan and Matt!
