My Aaron Curry story:

Aaron and I enrolled in the same history class freshman year. The class sucked but Aaron’s participation in the class, or lack thereof, remains etched in my memory. During the final exam, our professor distributed the blue books to the entire class. In about two-and-a-half minutes, Aaron stands up, walks to the front of the classroom, looks our professor for mere moments, smiles, and submits his booklet.

Students laughed nervously, thinking that Aaron was being a smart ass. We all assumed he would take back the exam and and sit back down to finish the in-class essays. Nope. Aaron Curry finished the three-hour written exam in three minutes. A world record, I suppose.

I don’t think he did well in that final exam. But I think he rationalized why it wouldn’t be necessary to take it. Morally reprehensible or not, he’s gonna be making some bank.

Curry was always my second favorite person to interview. He had some real competition in Alphonso Smith, who was an even better interview. That said, there aren’t two better guys or better competitors than those two and they earned that bank. It’s going to be fun following their careers in the future, not to mention Stan’s, Sam’s and Chip’s.

Bah da da da da da da da, Go Deacs.
