In the last four or five years, Coach K has been able to take “OK” athletes and transform them into basketball players. (there are, of course, some exceptions—it’s not like Duke does bad a recruiting..they don’t).

What I saw tonight was team of disciplined basketball players half-embarass a team of talented NBA ball players. I watched the game tonight with a former Wake player and he even admitted that with a team of NBA-potential ball players, we have to run one-on-one sets instead of college designed patterns and runs. We play an NBA offense in the college level, and that simply won’t get it done with teams that will dive, scrap, get in your face, and irritate you until you break.

I hate singing Duke’s praises, but Coach K showed why he is who he is and why Deano—whose career is still budding—isn’t even close to Coach K’s level.

When one of the best players in the conference has an “in the zone” shooting day, it spells trouble for the opposition. It’s Henderson, hands down.
