where did this elliot williams kid come from? I feel like I am just now beginning to hear his name mentioned
Duke showed they could not play this tempo against UNC.This will be an interesting theme, unless Wake gets down too much early.

bucket should have counted as the contact was after the shot left his hand.

time for gut check in the huddle. if they don’t want to match the intensity, then warm up the bus at halftime and go home. it’s not worth wasting a Sunday evening watching them play like the past couple years.

what poise? I know mid-major teams that didn’t give up like this against this kind of Duke run.

better couple of possessions. it is now a possession by possession game. UNC was able to come back after this kind of run last week.Lawson was able to wear down their guards and Duke stopped shooting well. maybe there is hope.

It’s hard to beat DUke when you don’t guard Scheyer, or Henderson….

Nice to see Wake hitting a few shots here….Atleast they are keeping them within striking distance on the horizon
Nolan Smith finally gets called for the hand check. Bob Knight would be pleased and Smith has 3.

couple notes: Wake scored 4 points in 8 minutes there when Duke made their run. After Teague hit that quick 2 though, Wake outscored Duke 19-8 to finish the half. Teague taking over was exactly what the team needed.
James is out of sync. He had 4 turnovers. Aminu with 4 too. The Deacs with an astounding 16 turnovers as a team.
Ish played well, got hosed on a couple calls but does have six points and two assists. He could have more success if the team was cutting to the hoop or looking for the ball.
Elliot Williams legit with 8 points and four steals.
Deacs with that run at the end gave themselves a good shot to come back here if they open the second half with fire. They need James to pick it up.
Problem: Duke media room no bottled water. Bad planning for such an esteemed university. But great halftime snacks though.
Bah da da da da da da da, Go Deacs.
Blogger So Dear
Obviously with no water in the media room, they are trying to mess with opposing media too. Media probably get no calls either.

Just remember Duke erased an 11 point lead at Joel.

Now this is a ballgame and why the ACC is the best conference this year.

You’re at Duke — of course it would make sense,.

Not sure how they could count the bucket and a foul on JJ

McFarland reputation foul, Duke bail out foul

Last 8 mins, need to not overgamble on D. Keep making Duke shoot from deep. Legs should be getting tired. Offensively, keep attacking, but don’t panic.

Running out of possessions because the refs are going to put Duke on the line. Need to continue to go inside and look for traditional 3 point plays. Defense has to rebound misses, not worry so much about blocks that leave Duke weak side rebounds or shooter put backs off their bad shots.

was there a good reason to rush a three, this is where wake has to be more patient when they are down.

This is another great game. Two amazing teams.
Henderson is just unguardable. Don’t feel bad.
Go Hawks!
I'm more than impressed with Teague.
We typically make opposing point guards look great, but he is playing on another level tonight. Hats off.
Go Hawks!
I thaought the frantic pace would hurt Duke more than Wake
…down the stretch when shooting 3’s… Sadly it didn’t happen.
You guys made me nervous for a while there.
Hopefully we get a chance for one more game at the end of the season. Thanks for letting me crash your board tonight.
Nice feature on Elliot Williams today too. Spot on. He is the difference between tonight and that Carolina game … Paulus can shoot, but is a huge liability on D. Nolan can play D, but makes some dumb mistakes. Elliot gives us a defensive presence and better BBall IQ on the offensive side. We still need to learn to keep speedy guards out of the paint, but the zone worked nice in the crunch here at the end.
Best of luck. Thanks by the way too… I had to overs on the amount of times you guys blame the refs for something. I told my buddy it should be set higher than 59.5…easy money!
Go Hawks!
Question for the Board Manager and Editors to delve into, when Wake is behind, what happens to the offensive sets and decisionmaking the last 4-5 minutes. Teague had one focused touch in the last 4 minutes.

Don't worry about this game
It took them playing a near perfect and two guys being totally out of their minds for Duke to eke a victory.
All you need to see was how excited K was at the end to realize he didn’t expect to beat us. Other than winning a NC or ACC Tourney, I’ve never seen him that excited to win a game.
