Deacs bounce back

With strong performances from Riley Skinner and the receiving trio of Devon Brown, Chris Givens (pictured) and Marshall Williams, Wake Forest held on to beat N.C. State by the count of 30-24.  The Demon Deacons picked off sophomore Russell Wilson twice, the first interceptions of his career.  This is a huge win for the Deacs, as the Atlantic division is wide open after today's unexpected results in the ACC.  Stay tuned for more on the victory!

Besides being a win, yesterdays game also clearly illustrated our weak spot. Riley was sacked 6 times. One has to think that this weakness helped lead to the two interceptions, and the poor red zone performance. We also got to see some quality kicking from Newman. I think he’ll only get better as he becomes accustomed to the atmosphere of college football.

A good game, nonetheless. There was certainly a roller coaster of emotions going on.
